Hive & Hope Holiday Blend

Dark Roast — Brazil & Guatemala
Ratings: Brazil 89 • Guatemala 91

Crafted in partnership with the 501(c)(3) Hive & Hope Foundation, which supports families of children with complex medical needs, this seasonal blend was created to bring warmth, nostalgia, and comfort to the holidays. This dark roast is built for cozy winter nights—rich roasted chestnut character, gentle spice, and a velvety mouthfeel that lingers like the glow of colorful lights.

Tasting Profile

A deep, comforting dark roast with a lush body and soft sweetness. Notes of roasted chestnut, warm holiday spice, and subtle toasted cacao unfold into a smooth, velvety finish. Designed to evoke winter evenings by the fire, this blend delivers a festive, familiar cup that feels like the holidays themselves.

Origin & Region

Brazil — Cerrado
Guatemala — Antigua & Huehuetenango

This blend brings together coffees from two of the most trusted and time-honored growing regions in the world. Brazil’s Cerrado region—known for its consistent climate and advanced mechanized harvesting—provides a sturdy, chocolate-forward foundation. Guatemala’s high-altitude volcanic regions add sweetness, structure, and spice, creating a balanced dark roast with depth and nuance.

Blend Composition

Bourbon • Typica • Caturra • Catuaí • Catucaí • Mundo Novo

This holiday blend harmonizes classic Guatemalan varietals—Bourbon, Typica, and Caturra—for aromatic complexity and sweetness that withstands a darker roast. Brazilian Catuaí, Catucaí, and Mundo Novo add richness, body, and the roasted-nut depth at the heart of the cup. Together, these varietals express the hallmark flavors of a festive winter blend: chocolate, spice, and comforting warmth.

Altitude & Processing

1,200–2,000 MASL
Pulped Natural (Brazil) & Washed (Guatemala)

Brazilian coffees grown between 1,200–1,400 meters and processed by the pulped-natural method deliver plush body and roasted-nut character. Guatemalan beans from 1,500–2,000 meters are washed to highlight clarity, spice, and sweetness. These processes merge into a bold yet refined dark roast with a velvety texture—ideal for slow mornings, late-night gatherings, and everything the holiday season brings.
